Here it is almost 2:00 in the morning, and I'm still awake. This is certainly not good. One of the things that I have to work on is getting more sleep. I truly am a much better person when I'm functioning on a full night of sleep, unfortunately I very rarely get it. Sometimes life gets in the way and other times television gets in the way. No matter what the reason is, the truth is that I, like so many others just don't get enough of it.
If anyone has ideas for making evening duties faster so that bedtime can come a bit earlier, please share your ideas. I'd love to hear from you.

Greetings from a fellow insomniac. I stumbled upon your blog and just wanted to take a moment to send some encouragement your way toward your marathon goal. I am sure you will succeed - your determination comes through in your writing. I too hope to someday run a marathon, in honor of my son, who is battling cancer - - although the furthest I ever ran was a couple of blocks chasing after our dog, who was chasing another dog and that completely wiped me out. I'm about your age and in decent shape so who knows, maybe in a few years I may give it a try.
All the best to you. Be well.
Thank you so much for your words of encouragement. If you can stay strong through your son's illness, I have no doubt that you will have what what it takes to run a marathon when you're ready to. I did my first half marathon with Team in Training. I did fundraising for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and in return they trained me for the race. It was a great experience, I got to make new friends with common goals, and I also came to realize that the actual fundraising part was harder than the running. Don't feel bad about being wiped out chasing your dog, dogs are pretty darn fast.
Your response to my post made me cry, in a good way though, you touched my heart.
My son has leukemia and I know all about the difficulties of fundraising for the LLS - - it's quite a challenge! And yes, you are right, my perseverance and strength through my son's illness has made me a much stronger person; perhaps a person who will one day run a marathon.
